Offering up previously unrevealed tidbits about her personal life, Gwyneth Paltrow has opened up about how she’s been able to maintain her marriage.

Of wedded life with Coldplay rocker Chris Martin, the Oscar winning actress credits her drive to be a good mother to children Apple and Moses as the backbone behind making it through tough times.

Paltrow explained, “I have little kids in school. I want to maintain my marriage and my family, so I have to be here when he [Chris] comes home.”

“We’ve been married for more than eight years now and we’re still into it,” the 39-year-old added. “I think you do fall in and out of love and you just keep going, and every time you go through a really difficult phase you rediscover something new and it just gets better.”

Gwyneth Paltrow’s Secrets to Maintaining Marriage

Stepping out for a prestigious honor, Shailene Woodley took to the red carpet before the Virtuosos Award Tribute at the Arlington Theatre in Santa Barbara, California on Friday (February 3).

The “Descendants” actress joined alongside Producer Jim Burke while readying to receive her trophy at the Santa Barbara International Film Festival held event.

As for the Virtuosos accolade, it’s “an award given to multiple up-and-coming actors for achieving a breakthrough performance.”

With Rooney Mara, Melissa McCarthy, Patton Oswalt, Andy Serkis and Demián Bichir among the other honorees, SBIFF director Roger Durling said of the 2012 crop, “I’m ecstatic about this strong line-up of Virtuosos. They all gave us indelible performances.”

He’s certainly in full steam ahead promotional mode, and Brad Pitt added another cover gig to his efforts by fronting the February 2012 issue of Backstage.

The 48-year-old big screen superstar spoke at length with the publication while beginning with his tale of falling in love with acting/storytelling and working through topics such as the auditioning experience and his take on whether he feels underrated as a thespian.

On when he first realized he wanted to be an actor:
“I grew up in Oklahoma and Missouri, and I just loved film. My folks would take us to the drive-in on summer nights, and we’d sit on the hood of the car. I just had this profound love for storytelling. I think it’s just an amazing thing we get to do. We are so complex, we are mysteries to ourselves, we are difficult to each other. And then here’s this storytelling that reminds us we are all the same. I consider it such a privilege.”

On whether he’s ever felt underrated as an actor:
“No. I thought I could always get there or make that turn as long as they let me stay in the game. Listen, I’ve been pretty fortunate. And if I’ve ever been underrated, it’s actually been something I’ve been able to work with; I can surprise people. It sets me up to exceed expectations, so I don’t mind.

On his take on the audition experience:
“You’re sitting in a room, and you all kind of look alike, and you’re all going over your lines, you can hear the audition going on inside. And you have these few pages of black lines on white paper, and it says you smile here, you do this there. You start hearing the same thing over and over. Now you think of the people on the other side there, the people that are running the casting sessions. By the third, the fourth, the 10th, the 20th, they’re hearing the same thing, and then suddenly someone comes in and does something different. And it lands. Now you can’t be different for different’s sake, and this doesn’t always work, but you have to separate yourself from the normal read. Of course, it has to be truthful. If it’s not truthful, don’t waste your time. I think that’s the key thing that took me a while to figure out.”

She’s been busy filming the high profile role of Linda Lovelace, but Amanda Seyfried took time from her hectic schedule to shoot the March 2012 cover of Glamour.

The 26-year-old displayed her playful nature in the Ellen von Unwerth shot spread while talking with the magazine about everything from ex-boyfriend Dominic Cooper, why she’d never date Justin Timberlake and if she feels competitive with fellow young starlets.

On watching Linda Lovelace’s famous porno Deep Throat:
“What surprised me is the amount of pubic hair! I’m pretty sure I would never do a full frontal in a movie—for personal reasons, I wouldn’t really want to show that.”

On whether ex-boyfriend Dominic Cooper was the last guy she loved:
“My God, yeah. He was my last real boyfriend. We still joke about having kids, like, ‘If it doesn’t work out with other people, we might as well just have a child.’ And there’s a part of that that feels…possible.”

On if she is going through a twenties slut phase:
“No! I’m terrified of being promiscuous. I don’t like the feeling you get when it’s not something that you truly want to do, and I hate the emotional abuse you give yourself afterward. It’s just uncomfortable when you’re with somebody and you’re like, ‘I don’t really know if I’m even comfortable with this. Why did I? Eww!’ I think dating can come without sex.”

On why she would never date her In Time co-star, Justin Timberlake:
“Oh, I think any female that meets him at first is like, ‘I want to date you.’ He seems so perfect, but you get to know him, and he’s a good pal. He’ll tell you what he really feels. But, you know, he’s really famous, which has its downsides.”

On having kids and commitment:
“Oh yeah, I think about kids all the time. I feel like the next person I commit to, that’s going to be the guy who I’m going to have kids with. That’s in my crazy female brain. So that’s why I’m like, ‘I can’t commit.’ ”

On if she feels competitive with other young actresses:
“Yeah, sometimes. But the funny thing is, the girls that I’m always up against for roles are pretty nice and cool, like Emma Watson. She’s awesome. She’s really funny and smart. And Carey Mulligan. It’s flattering to be up against her because she’s really good, and she’s cool too…I think the era of the diva actress is coming to an end.”

According to an inside source, the “Ghost” gal was partying excessively and barely eating leading up to her breakdown last week.

The pal told press, “As Demi got older, she convinced herself that she needed to stay young and skinny to remain attractive to her husband. She needed reassurance all the time that she was hot and sexy.”

Treating herself to some retail therapy, Kim Kardashian was spotted at the Fred Segal store in Los Angeles yesterday (January 29).

The “Disaster Movie” diva picked up some new duds, as well as a smoothie and take-out food from the cafe before she headed back home.

Meanwhile, the season finale of “Kourtney and Kim Take Manhattan” showed the breakup of Kim’s short-lived marriage to Kris Humphries, with Kris admitting that things had gone south.

He told Scott Disick, “It’s getting to the point where we need to start talking about it. New York’s been tough.”

A subsequent conversation with Kim saw Humprhies admitting, “I think we need to get back to what it was. We got lost in the shuffle here.” Kim replied, “Sometimes I just feel so dead inside because I haven’t really been myself here.”

And when it comes time for Humphries to relocate, Kim freaks out again. “Kris wants to move all of his stuff to L.A. There’s something that I don’t feel comfortable with him moving all of his stuff to my house.”

She continues, “I feel bad for the guy, I changed his whole life. My feelings have changed. No matter what happens with Kris and I, we shared something really special. Something only he and I can understand. I love him and I care about him, but we’re both not happy.”

The PeekYou website looked at prominence in the news and social media activity to come up with their list, with the top five as Kate Moss, Heidi Klum, Adriana Lima, Gisele Bundchen, and Alessandra Ambrosio.

Each year a lucky lady is picked to receive the honor, and this time around Claire Danes was doted with Hasty Pudding’s 2012 Woman of the Year title.

The Golden Globe winning actress took to the campus of Harvard University to join in on an elaborate parade and Pudding Pot ceremony through the streets of Boston.

As for picking Miss Danes as the winner of the award, a mission statement noted that she “has made an indelible mark on the world of entertainment, in both drama and comedy.”

Paying tribute to the late King of Pop, Justin Bieber was on hand at Grauman’s Chinese Theatre in Los Angeles, CA on Thursday (January 26).

After being introduced by Paris Jackson, the “Baby” singer took the stage to give homage to Michael Jackson with a few special words followed by a rendition of “Rockin Robin.”

During his speech, Bieber admitted to the audience, “I don’t usually get nervous… Michael meant so much to me. I know he meant a lot to you guys as well. He was more than an entertainer. He was an inspiration.”

“He was kind, he was gentle, he was very charitable and that’s why I look up to him. I think that people are going to remember him for his dancing and for his singing, but people need to remember him for being the man that he was,” Justin went on to say before encouraging the crowd to give MJ a round of applause.
