Who better to recap each week’s new episode of Gossip Girl than author Cecily von Ziegesar? In this week’s edition, she talks about how Blair should be with Chuck and not giving a fake smile with Louis.

Hey People,

I have to say I kept checking my watch last night. Didn’t Blair have a plane to catch—with Chuck? Sigh. Guess that didn’t happen. We’ll have to resign ourselves to weeks of her tortuous new life, locked in a castle in Monaco, eating bonbons and macarons, and pining miserably away for Chuck, when she could have had him, time and time again.

You know what I always say though? Happy people are boring. And our B is anything but boring.

Here are some of my favorite moments from last night’s episode:

Favorite outfit: Blair’s I heart NY outfit purchased in the airport gift shop. She actually looks adorable in a simple T-shirt. Who knew?

Favorite line: Serena to Dan, “You just did.” Same hurt and broken-hearted line was delivered by Julia Roberts to Richard Gere in Pretty Woman. Which gives me hope for them still, because remember what happens in Pretty Woman? Dan’s going to be climbing Serena’s fire escape sometime in the near future, but not until she’s written a variety of nasty things about him in her blog.

Favorite parent: Lily, for seeming to be permanently on Klonopin or some such mind-mellowing drug, always looking lovely, with a vague smile and a drink in her hand, and always ten minutes behind the action.

Favorite music: Even though it was the Wedding of the Year, with royals in their royal regalia, Blair and Louis still had a DJ playing Like a Virgin and Moves like Jagger instead of a harpist and a flautist playing Mozart and Bach. Gotta love that.

Favorite facial expression: Blair’s sad, sad smile when she has to kiss Louis and pose for the cameras as they set off on their “honeymoon.”

I imagine Blair right now, locked in the tippy top of a very tall, cold stone tower, growing her hair. One day it will be long enough to unfurl out the window and touch the ground. Who knows who’ll be the first to attempt the climb?

It’s consistently at the top of the ratings, and this year was no different – as Super Bowl XLVI ended up as the highest viewed broadcast in network television history.

According to Nielsen, the NFL Championship between the New York Giants and the New England Patriots pulled in 111.3 million viewers to slightly edge out the previous year’s number of 111 million.

Meanwhile, the NBC music competition series “The Voice” enjoyed the carryover from the Super Bowl – as its season two premiere brought in over 36.7 million viewers, making it the highest-rated non-sports telecast in six years.

Back in 2006, an episode of “Grey’s Anatomy” followed the Super Bowl and was the last entertainment program to do as well at “The Voice” last night.

Taking a break from reality and heading south of the border, Kate Hudson and Matthew Bellamy were spotted soaking up with sun in Cabo San Lucas on Sunday (February 5).

The “Something Borrowed” babe rocked a cute little bikini as she showed off her toned figure while chatting with her musician fiance, who opted to wear a robe while sipping on a refreshing frozen drink.

Getting some quality alone time, the engaged to be married couple’s newest addition, 6-month old Bingham, and Kate’s older son, Ryder, were nowhere to be seen as the two lovebirds made the most of their adults-only time in the Mexican locale.

Sure to elate her millions of loyal fans, Miley Cyrus brought her musical skills to Monday’s (February 6) episode of “The Ellen DeGeneres Show”.

The 19-year-old took daytime television program’s stage while treating the audience to a rendition of the Bob Dylan tune “You’re Gonna Make Me Lonesome When You Go”.

Making for quite the relaxing rendition, the former “Hannah Montana” star sang her heart out while accompanied by an acoustic guitar player.

Coming the very same day in which her brand new series is set for it’s television debut, Katharine McPhee is looking ever-so-sexy in an early look at an upcoming feature from the March 2012 issue of GQ.

The 27-year-old struck a few seductive poses for photographer Matt Irwin to help entice potential viewers into watching her program.

As for her new TV show, “Smash” is produced by the legendary Steven Spielberg while co-starring Debra Messing, Anjelica Huston and Jack Davenport.

Airing at 10/9c on NBC, the series is self-described as “a musical drama that celebrates the beauty and heartbreak of the Broadway theater as it follows a cross section of dreamers and schemers who all have one common desire – to be a ‘Smash.’”

After a lengthy hiatus from the music world, Madonna has officially made her comeback in a big way – as the Queen of Pop took center stage at Lucas Oil Field in Indianapolis for an energetically captivating Super Bowl XLVI halftime show performance on Sunday night (February 5).

The Material Girl treated the millions watching around the globe to a string of four songs, as she was joined by LMFAO during “Vogue” and “Music” while Nicki Minaj and M.I.A. stepped out for the performance of Madonna’s new single “Give Me All Your Luvin’” before the show was closed out with a Cee Lo Green accompanied version of “Like a Prayer”.

The cheerleader themed theatrics included plenty of fireworks while the production was assisted by Cirque du Soleil and Madonna’s longtime choreographer and creative director Jamie King.

The 53-year-old music legend was quite confident prior to taking the stage, as she told Anderson Cooper in a recent interview, “I have to put on the greatest show on earth, in the middle of the greatest show on earth. I have eight minutes to set it up and seven minutes to take it down and 12 minutes to put on the greatest show on earth. That’s a lot of pressure.”

Madonna’s Super Bowl appearance comes as she’s readying for the release of her twelfth studio album – which comes four years after her most recent effort – as MDNA is set to hit store shelves and iTunes on March 26th.

Madonna’s Rockin’ Super Bowl XLVI Halftime Show

Taking center stage at the big game, Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert were among the performers gracing the stage at Super Bowl XLVI in Indianapolis, IN on Sunday (February 5).

The country singing couple helped open things up as they teamed up to treat the sold out crowd at Lucas Oil Stadium to a rendition of “America the Beautiful”.

Shelton and Lambert joined a lineup of star performers including National Anthem singer Kelly Clarkson and halftime show act Madonna (who brought along a little help in Nicki Minaj and M.I.A.).

Meanwhile, Blake can be seen in the second season premiere of his NBC music competition show “The Voice” right after the conclusion of the NFL Championship game – in the meantime, enjoy the videos of he and Miranda singing “America the Beautiful” along with a preview clip of tonight’s debut episode of “The Voice”.

Giving all of the lady viewers a little thrill, Channing Tatum channeled his stripper past while kicking off his hosting efforts on yesterday’s (February 4) episode of “Saturday Night Live”.

The “Haywire” hunk’s monologue saw him greet a handful of women in the audience as former “clients” from his stripping days while also pointing out a gentleman in the crowd named Leslie (played by Fred Armisen) who was his “best customer.”

During the course of the show, a favorite clip was a Weekend Update sketch in which anchor Seth Meyers spoke of the SNL criticism received by past musical guest Lana Del Rey (played by Kristen Wiig), who fired back at the haters by saying, “Based on the public’s response, I must have clubbed a baby seal while singing the Taliban national anthem.”

Other segments included a Sci-Fi Cold Open in which Newt Gingrich was in charge on the Moon, Getting Freaky with Cee Lo featuring a guest visit from Matthew McConaughey (played by Tatum) and an ode to the Super Bowl via a piece titled Tom Brady & Janet.

Joining Channing on last night’s “Saturday Night Live” was musical Bon Iver, as the folk band offered up performances of their songs “Holocene” and “Beth/Rest” during the course of the show.

SNL Recap: Channing Tatum Hosts, Bon Iver Performs

Held to recognize excellence in production design and art direction in the film and television industries, the 16th annual Art Directors Guild Awards took place at The Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills, CA on Saturday night (February 4).

The Paula Poundstone hosted ceremony drew out celebrity presenters including Miranda Cosgrove, Kevin McHale, Ed Asner, Alexandra Breckenridge and Penelope Ann Miller while the Lifetime Achievement Award honoree this year was Tony Walton.

With Robert Boyle, William Darling and Alfred Junge being inducted into the Hall of Fame, big winners in the movie categories included “Hugo,” “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2,” and “The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo” .

Meanwhile, television’s top honors were doted upon production designers from “Boardwalk Empire,” “Mildred Pierce,” “Modern Family” and “Saturday Night Live”.

With the nearly 700 attendees being treated to a musical performance by Ben Vereen, the complete list of winners from the 16th annual Art Directors Guild Awards is as follows:
