After recently announcing his retirement from late night television, CNN has officially found the next Larry King.

Stepping in for duty is Piers Morgan, who will be debuting “a candid, in-depth interview program,” CNN announced Wednesday (September 8).

The “America’s Got Talent” judge told press, “I have watched ‘Larry King Live’ for much of the last 25 years, and dreamed of one day filling the legendary suspenders of the man I consider to be the greatest TV interviewer of them all.”

While he films his unnamed prime time series, Morgan will continue to write regular columns for CNN.com and the Mail on Sunday.Photo Credit: Getty Images, Wenn.com
