Who better to recap each week’s new episode of Gossip Girl Each than author Cecily von Ziegesar? In this week’s edition, she tells us what lines she’ll be quoting all week plus what styles she’d like to have in her closet.

Best line: There were so many excellent lines, it’s actually a tie…

1. Blair to Dorota, “That’s because English is your second language.”
2. Serena to Charlie/Ivy, “You know you may be an evil genius?”
3. Gossip Girl, “Spotted: the cougar and her cub in a pride war.”

Best looks: Love, love, love Blair’s black and white leopard dress and feathered straw hatlet. The look is of the moment, futuristic, and retro all at the same time. J’adore. Also love that Serena wears a feather boa to work. That girl is anything but prim. Couldn’t stop staring at Diana’s zippered-down super-tight teal wetsuit/ski suit of a dress. How many of us could zip ourselves into that? Amazing. Also adored Charlie/Ivy’s gold party dress with the red spangles at the bottom. Spectacular. The stylists are really pulling out all the stops this season.

Biggest Drama: Absolutely Chuck and Blair’s kiss, alone in the bar. Finally. And they were both so into it, too. OK, so she slapped him afterwards, but it was a loooooong kiss. I mean, they were kissing all through the commercials!

Can’t wait for Dan drunk-crashing Blair’s party next week!

Can a LDR ever really work?

Dear Gossip Girl, I have been dating this guy off and on for a while and recently I moved a little over an hour away to go to college with no car. You say you’ve been on-and-off but you’re in love with each other? Something doesn’t quite add up, darling. Before you start hitchhiking to see your boy toy, make sure you two are on the same sonnet-filled page.

First, test his feelings for you with some take-no-prisoners questions. Then, if you’re sure you’re both smitten kittens, up your cell phone plan, agree to open, honest communication and schedule your first romantic rendezvous posthaste.

Just remember, darling, nothing kills an LDR like jealousy, so try to keep yours in check. Ditching the next Brian Atwood sample sale just to sift through your bf’s Facebook and grill him about every little wall post will only result in an icy cold beau…and a closet depressingly devoid of these:

Chicest Accessory: Blair’s lack of accessories–not even earrings–at the Spectator party. She’s wearing an incredible red and fuchsia bejeweled lace dress. She doesn’t need accessories. Nice choice, stylists.

Prettiest Beauty Look: Blair’s superglossy berry red lips with above-mentioned dress. Ever since we found she was pregnant she’s just been… glowing.

Best Overall Style: Blair, during Bridesmaid Boot Camp. I always love B in yellow. Love that bright yellow floral sheer silk blouse, the confusing multi-layered tri-tone high-waisted skirt with the white gauze overlay on the hips, and that tiny yellow Robin Hood hat pinned to her hair. Only Blair could get away with this outfit. She would have fit right in at Prince William and Kate Middleton’s wedding.

Best Quote: “Rich people are so hard to like.” –Natalie from the studio, during Dan’s scarily believable and disastrous Inside screenplay meeting.

Biggest Drama: Chuck’s “I’m sorry” speech to Blair. How could you not melt? “I’m sorry for treating you like property. I’m sorry for not telling you I loved you when I knew I did. I’m sorry for giving up on us…” I got all tingly, and when Blair said, “Is that all?” I was like, “Kiss her, kiss her!” But then he didn’t. He just said. “Yeah,” all gruffly and left. And we knew he was lying and Blair knew it too and it was seriously sad and sexy and romantic. Just the way I like it.

Stop a BFF bully

Dear Gossip Girl, my BFF is turning into a major frenemy. I’m not sure if it’s just PMS or what, but suddenly I’m her big target. I’m fed up with the passive aggressive dissing in her FB status updates. Help! –Noor

It looks like you’re finding out the hard way that bullies come in all shapes and sizes. Some are even cleverly disguised as your best friend! But she’s probably picking on you because she doesn’t think you’ll stand up for yourself. Remember, bullies–even the BFF kind–only respond to strength.

So the next time your bad friend’s Facebook status reads something like “Uh guess I WON’T be having sushi tonight because a CERTAIN FRIEND is insisting on Italian. Whatever,” let her know that you’re not to be trifled with. Just one well-posted “We aren’t going to the sushi place because last time you tipped 10% and quite frankly I’m embarrassed to be seen in there with you again” will make her think twice about bashing you, either on line or in person!

Confrontation isn’t any fun, but having someone step all over you in her stilettos isn’t either…XOXO.

Growing up, Blair imagined marrying a handsome prince, while Dan fantasized in Brooklyn about making The New York Times Best-Seller’s list. Well, done and (almost) done.

Everyone–even Chuck to an extent–is happy for Blair’s royal dream come true, but too bad the same can’t be said for their Hemingway-in-training-wheels. Dan’s big book launch was all but a bust — but then again, how much fun is always playing by the book? Check out the verbal bombs dropped at Dan’s coming out party.

By now you know that a cray-cray murderer is on the loose in Gossip Girl: Psycho Killer. But in order to fit in with this glitzy crowd, one must remain stylishly sleek at all times–even while on the hunt. My new book, Gossip Girl Psycho Killer, is loaded with killer fashion—it is a Gossip Girl novel after all. But what are the absolute wear-or-die items in a killer fashionista’s closet?

The Boot

Preferable knee-high, black leather, with a solid four-inch heel. Perfect for concealing small weapons or kicking someone’s teeth out. Platform boots provide excellent stability and are better for running than stilettos—good for the chase.

The Trench

Deep pockets, a turn-uppable collar, roomy enough to store a large sword under but belted for a flattering look. There’s nothing more alluring and dangerous than a beautiful girl in a good trench coat.

Enormous Sunglasses

Just in case the last victim fought back a little too hard and gave you a black eye or a nasty scratch on your cheek. Just in case you were up all night, plotting, killing, or disposing of the evidence and the bags under your eyes are bigger than Brazil. Paired with the trench, you really can’t go wrong.

A Scarf

Preferably silk. Preferably Hermés. Oh the wonderful things one can do with a scarf. It keeps your neck warm on chilly October nights. It keeps your hair neat on windy days. It makes a great tourniquet, a good muzzle, works great for strangulation. Or, you can wrap up one of your victim’s severed hands with it to leave on your next victim’s bed.

Perfume

Everyone should have a signature scent. It warns people of your comings and goings. You want them to know you’ve been there a
up their spines when they smell your approach. And you’ll need it to hide the dead body stench in the Town Car’s trunk.

Kaylee DeFer didn’t need to think twice about signing up for a second Gossip Girl stint.

“I’m so excited that I was asked back. I was kind of beside myself when I heard that I was going to be brought back as a series regular,” the Tucson native spills. “It’s an honor.” Having access to that wardrobe? We bet.
